Rhea grew up in an ideal country setting on an organic farm in Eastern Ontario. This is where her foundation of health and wellness began - inspired by her mother's dedication to their family wellness through gardening and food, and her father's deep connection with the land.
Having graduated from the Canadian College of Health Science and Technology in April of 2012, Rhea currently holds registration with the Ontario College of Massage Therapists. Her intense training with CCHST allowed her to work with a large variety of clients with an array of conditions. Her specialized training as a Prenatal Educator and Birth Doula has provided her with vast knowledge in pregnancy, birth and post-partum. This experience is what drove her to open her own practice dedicated to families in their birthing years. This is how the Family Wellness Centre was born.
Within her professional career, Rhea has worked with women in both low risk and higher risk pregnancies, and understands the physical and emotional tolls it can take on the body and family. She has also experienced treating pregnant women with other challenges, such as gestational diabetes, multiples, high blood pressure and other unique medical circumstances. Rhea has worked in the field of holistic health since 2002, including consumer education and product development.
Throughout Rhea’s career she has become well known by local birthing hospitals, midwifery clinics, obstetrics offices and with prenatal yoga instructors. Her personal practice has always been regarded as a special place for families to come, relax and feel safe. Rhea’s passion and dedication is a warm and comforting experience for all expecting moms.
As an RMT, experienced Doula and mother of 3, Rhea brings the confidence, comfort and support many families need at this time in their lives.
To provide all clients with accurate, up-to-date, comprehensive information for their situation, thus enabling them to make informed decisions that work best for them and their family.
To provide a child-friendly environment that contributes to a parent’s well-being where they can learn tips and parenting skills, meet new friends and make life-long connections, discuss what’s on their mind, strengthen their bodies and their minds, and simply enjoy themselves.
To promote the importance and benefits of breastfeeding and ensure that any woman who chooses to breastfeed has proper information and support to improve her chances of success.
VALUES and BELIEFS I value knowledge, wisdom, integrity, and community service I believe:
In asking for help
That there is no such thing as a perfect parent or perfect child
That knowledge is meant to be shared
That just talking to others who understand can make it better
